In partnership with other Georgia MOAA Council and Chapters become an effective advocate for relevant Veterans or national security issues of concern to us, as military officers, by using our professional knowledge and experience as officers of our armed forces to be thoughtful leaders and influencers in our community on these issues.

Chapter Legislative Affairs Program

The thrust of our chapter’s legislative program is to:
a.    Support MOAA’s National legislative program; and
b.    Achieve beneficial legislation at the state and local level.

The Legislative Affairs Committee will diligently strive to accomplish the above by staying informed, discussing topics at our chapter meetings and highlighting key issues in the monthly chapter newsletter.

In order to make AMOAA a more powerful voice, we would do well to have one Chapter member per Congressional district to serve as legislative liaison to your local Representative. We cover a large area, encompassing all or part of nine districts. Our chapter legislative liaisons visit federal, state and municipal legislators in his or her home office on a regular basis and strive to develop a relationship with the legislator’s staff members.  The liaisons will represent the chapter and serve as the point of contact to express our chapter’s official position and make our voices heard.
